Part 2. Birthday in the Country

After spending the perfect Saturday in Bath, I headed back home to the good old West Country for a special birthday pub Sunday roast.

We headed to a little country pub in Priddy, Somerset, called the Queen Victoria Inn. You know the type, log fire, plenty of cider and the same old man stood drinking at the bar every time you go.
It’s my favourite country pub to visit and I have celebrated several birthdays here.

My whole family came and we introduced AJ to some proper Somerset scrumpy and Butcombe Ale pie – finally!Country life blog - 06 Country life blog - 07

After filling ourselves with pie, ham egg and chips and casserole (between us, not each), we headed to the nearby Ebbor Gorge for some scrambling and exploring!

We then all came home exhausted and filled ourselves up with some yummy birthday cake!
